Transducer Housing
What is transducer housing?
A transducer is a device that changes electrical pulses into sound waves or acoustic energy and back again. Transducers are essential components in the internet of things (IoT) and modern machinery, medical/healthcare equipment, automobiles, military devices, and so on.
How does transducer housing work?
Transducers are usually delicate electronic components and ICs. They need to be supported by a base or housing and assembled into a larger system. The functions of the housing are to (a) protect the electronic components in the adverse operating environment (noise, dust, temperature, moisture) and (b) to support system assembly.
A transducer housing usually comprises multiple materials. Its manufacturing requires multiple processing technologies, such as progressive/microstamping and insert moldings.
