How do we follow the Safety Product Management?

As one of the automotive industry supply chain manufacturers, every component we produce from micro parts to mechanical parts, should base on data management and international standard procedure, for example, International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949. The most important thing about making automotive parts is how secure it is which related to critical requirements is. We call this special functional part of a safety part or safety parts.

Safety parts refer to it as a critical characteristic of safety. For example, pedals. As its critical characteristic changed, could affect other automotive parts or a whole car. Usually, safety parts come with an audit from externals which assess the presence of an appropriate management system and the capabilities to adequately manage safety parts throughout the production from storing raw material to deliver parts to clients.

1. Train employees consistently with internal training every year to enhance the importance of safety parts.
2. Carry out every regular audit from IATF or clients such as Volvo’s Safety Management Audit (SMA), making sure the factory follows the operating procedures and achieves the standard.
3. Make control plans and Potential Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) based on technical drawings. The early discussion with clients can reduce the costs and risks before the design is confirmed.
4. Ensure SIP & SOP is applied throughout the production and documented the data.
5. Maintain production and measurement equipment regularly and document the information. Make sure hardware is not become a factor to affect the production.

The competence of safety parts is just as important as the secure feeling you have whilst driving a car on highways. The object of safety parts is to develop them that helps in preventing accidents from happening or, even an accident does happen, to minimize the consequences for the drivers and others on the road.
